Frequently Asked Questions
Are your products natural?
Yes, we use natural ingredients in all of our products, including the fragrances and colourants. We are currently working on an ingredient list to provide you with better information on the ingredients we stock within our products. In the meantime if you have any questions about any of the ingredients, such as their processing or benefits, please contact us. We would be happy to answer your questions.
Do you use preservatives?
No, we do not use preservatives of the conventional sense as most are synthetic and have been linked to health ailments. Our formulations are develop with specific criteria in mind, one being no synthetic preservatives. How do we facilitate this? We do not use water in our products. This ingredient alone necessitates the inclusion of at least one preservative. Many companies use water within their formula as a filler in order to reduce costs and/or make the product feel lighter. We don't believe in using fillers and look for other natural alternatives to give a lighter product texture.
Should we require an ingredient to extend the shelf-life of a product, we use an oil or butter that inherently has preservative properties. This can include for example, neem oil, tea tree oil and lavender oil. Of course, any products that we use are organic and of the purest variety (e.g.: cold pressed, virgin oils).
All products sold on this website have gone through testing required under UK law to deem a product safe for use.
Are your products organic?
The organic ingredients we use are certified organic, which makes our products in turn organic. Due to the cost associated with gaining certification, we have not applied for organic certification yet, but do plan to in the future. Information on organic certification is available by the UK's certification body, The Soil Association.
